21 – Point Tune-up Checklist inspection of you central AC system includes:

  1. Clean and check pressure tube for proper pressure switch operation
  2. Clean the compressors surface
  3. Clean the condenser coils
  4. Clean the relay contacts
  5. Inspect or clean air filter
  6. Test startup operations
  7. Test safety controls
  8. Tighten electrical connections
  9. Measure volts/amps on motors (too high of an amp can cause premature blower motor failure or a short in the equipment)
  10. Adjust, calibrate, or replace batteries on thermostats
  11. Check belts on belt driven motors
  12. Inspect all limit and safety controls.
  13. Check the condition of the line set
  14. Check the condition and operation of the evaporator coil
  15. Check the condition and operation of the blower fan
  16. Check the oil level in the compressor
  17. Check the condition and operation of the pressure switch
  18. Check the condition of the fuses
  19. Check the condition and operation of the capacitor
  20. The Freon level *This is a sealed system so if the level is low this is most definitely something wrong. We will not add any Freon to the system until it has been repaired. *
  21. Documents any deficiencies on customer invoice
